Dua Lipa is a Brit artist/singer from London United Kingdom on August 22nd 1995. Dua Lipa signed with Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model and dropped her debut album, self-titled in the year 2017. The album reached the third spot in the U.K. Chart for Albums. Eight singles were released, among them Be the only I.D.G.A.F. as well as New Rules (UK number one). The album also climbed at number 6 in the United States. Lipa won an award at the Brit Awards in 2018 as a British Female Solo Artist as well as British Breakthrough Act and her album has been certified platinum across several countries around the world. She is the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Dua Lipa has Bosnian descent through her maternal grandmother. It is also possible to trace her ancestral roots in Peja in Kosovo. Two of Lipa's grandfathers were historians. Her brother is Gjin Lipa, and a younger sister Rina. The musical influence of Lipa's came from her father, who is the guitarist and singer of the Kosovan Rock band Oda. At home her father continued to perform music, including own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa started singing around the age of five. The Sylvia Young Theater School was where she first began singing as she was nine years old. Lipa recorded the song If I Ain't Gotta You By Alicia Keys and Beautiful by Christina Aguilera for YouTube. Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records a contract in 2014. She released her first single New Love in August of 2015.
